A few scenes from around the house these past couple weeks. These dogs keep me constantly entertained. It's funny to see how their personalities interact (and sometimes clash). They are so idiosyncratic. Lila tries to be as close to people as she can- that first picture is from when we were doing something upstairs so she laid across one stair and rested her head on the stair above it. She doesn't ever want to miss anything. Wizzy runs the length of the pool back and forth tracking the movement of anyone in the pool. He's like our built in lifeguard. Constant vigilance! Gold star for whoever can identify that quote.
Pretty soon life is going to start picking up for me. Which is good because I never know what to do with too much free time. I have orientation at The Limited today and then I'm not sure when I will actually start working. But I'm excited! I'll be all, Can I help you find something ma'am? Are you finding everything alright? Would you like me to start a dressing room for you?
All of my friends tell me I'm crazy for being excited about retail which they say is a living hell. But I say bring it on difficult customers! In anticipation of some not so awesome experiences, I've been sure to be extra nice to anyone I encounter in sales or customer service. They really are hard jobs- I mean people can be cray.
Be back soon!

Something old, something new. There's alot of wedding jargon going on around here. My dad's getting married July 14th. Something old (train & scarf) and something new (watch & blouse). The top is from Ruche, it's the other thing that I bought with my giftcard from A Beautiful Mess! It is the perfect summer lightweight layer. I've been wearing it everywhere. The watch was my dad's graduation gift to me. Isn't it a beauty? Rose gold is my newest obsession.
This old train car is in downtown Clifton, VA. When I was in Europe, I really loved riding the trains. They remind me of old movies and Harry Potter, and honestly what could be better than those two things? Besides being stared at by people in the parking lot as you pose on a train car.

This dress is one of my favorites! And guess what? It's not really a secret, it's from Victoria's Secret. Sometimes they really have some gems. You should check it out!
Ahh look at all this beautiful brick. I miss my campus already. Yesterday was my one month graduation anniversary. Can you believe that? I definitely can't.

With all of these big changes- graduating, moving out of college & in to a new home- I've come to the conclusion that I need to downsize. There are a bunch of things laying around that I never wear many of which I've never worn or only worn a couple times. This is where you come in!
I'm selling a bunch of different items- clothing, shoes & accessories on Threadflip! A genius little site for buyers and sellers. Please go check it out! Some of the prices might look a little high but they all have shipping costs built in (that's how Threadflip works) so just keep that in my mind.

A polka dot is always fun, especially when paired with a peter pan collar (try to say that three times fast!). And if you haven't noticed, I am officially IN LOVE with these Seychelles shoes. I've been eyeing these guys for ages but didn't want to shell out the 90 bucks. Scooped these up on sale! Man, there's nothing I like better than a good deal.
Hair was kind of flat today, it's that second day after showering syndrome. You know what I'm talking about? So I threw in some waves/curls this morning & some dry shampoo. Rejuvenated things a little bit.

A few things floating around in my mind for summer. I like all the brights that I see in store windows, it feels like happiness. Apparently bright colors really do do good things for your mood. But I like to keep some classic pieces regardless of whatever trend testing I do.
Summer isn't complete without a good pair of jean shorts, a dependable flat, and a cute open toe sandal. At least that's the way I see it.
What can't you live without?

This girl is a blast. After running into each other on multiple occasions during the past couple weeks, questionable mutual stalking? We figured it was about time to schedule a planned hang out. Lisa suggested Eastern Market which is perfect because I've been wanting to go there ever since my last failed attempt (went the one day it's closed- it's Monday just a little FYI, I know I thought it was random too). The heat kind of took the shopping wind from out of our sails, but we had a good time just wandering around, sampling fruit, and listening to some funny passerby's.
I was not so secretly hoping we would run in to Naomi & Josh! Not this time, but I'm keeping the faith alive. Although we didn't see this cute dc family, we did have some delicious mexican food for dinner and then called it a day.
Hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed the day. Until next time Lisa!

Today has actually been a little bit chilly. Cold/rain front coming through this week. It's a nice change of pace. I love summer as much as the next girl, but I really don't do well in heat. I just wilt like a dead weed. This weather suits me just fine! I like the more mild temperatures.
This is one of my favorite dresses. It is so sweet with the little embroidery detail. It was actually meant to be worn as a nightdress but I just wear a slip under it and no one's the wiser. Well unless you knew it was a nightdress, in which case- let me go on thinking I'm clever. Tried out Katie's hair tutorial! It's definitely practice makes perfect. Today's my second time trying it and it gets easier the more you do it. Had an interview with Madewell today & this is what I wore. I've been noticing the little neon accents they've been pairing with their outfits, so I thought I'd throw on this belt. I'm not usually a neon kind of person, but I think this is the perfect subtle way to integrate it.
Hope your week's off to a good start!
