Always a blast when I meet up with this little lady. She's super cool even in the 90+ heat. Strangers think so too. She picked out this really cute British cafe where we eat brunch since we both woke up around noon cough cough. Delicious hash brown! And an authentic British man who took our order wearing an Olympic shirt.

Wandered around the waterfront, picked out some future realty. In my dreams that is. And grabbed some cold drinks since that's the only way to survive this DC summer.











Finished our day visiting Pretty People vintage, a treasure trove of new, consigned and vintage wears. Then called it a day. Hope to see you soon Lisa!

eastern market with lisa

This girl is a blast. After running into each other on multiple occasions during the past couple weeks, questionable mutual stalking? We figured it was about time to schedule a planned hang out. Lisa suggested Eastern Market which is perfect because I've been wanting to go there ever since my last failed attempt (went the one day it's closed- it's Monday just a little FYI, I know I thought it was random too). The heat kind of took the shopping wind from out of our sails, but we had a good time just wandering around, sampling fruit, and listening to some funny passerby's.

I was not so secretly hoping we would run in to Naomi & Josh! Not this time, but I'm keeping the faith alive. Although we didn't see this cute dc family, we did have some delicious mexican food for dinner and then called it a day.

k & k, episode two

The lovely Kenzie and her sweet sister, Kelsi, came to visit me in Winston-Salem over the weekend! If you aren't familiar with Kenzie's blog, you should go check it out ASAP. You'll love it. Last time we met up, they showed me around Charlotte. So it was real fun (that one's for you, Kenz & Kelsi) to share the twin city with them- we had a great time running around downtown, Mellow Mushroom-ing, going to Goodwill and the mall, taking photos in Reynolda Gardens (looking far less creepy than I would have by myself) & and ending with a wild frozen yogurt chase. A jam packed day of good times! Hope to see you girls again, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Kenzie & Kelsi

I finally got to meet the lovely Kenzie and her equally lovely sister, Kelsi! We have literally been talking about getting together since my sophomore year at Wake, so that's 2 years ago. We met up in her hometown Charlotte and they took me to a cool, off the beaten track thrift shop, Buffalo Exchange. Then we hopped over to Southpark Mall and looked around- you could spend days in there. But, stomachs were growling so we left for some Chipotle. It had been way too long! That place always hits the spot.





Kelsi's gorgeous waterfall braid! I've been wanting to try this one out, it looks kind of hard though. Anybody have any experience with it?



All in all, a super fun day! So glad to have met you girls :) Hopefully I'll see you both again sometime soon.

hello, alexandria

So I had the lovely pleasure of meeting Lisa of hello, suburbia this past Sunday. She's from the DC area too and we've been trying to get together all summer but crazy life kept getting in the way. We met up in Old Town Alexandria and wandered the quaint, colorful streets window shopping and taking pictures with quite a few curious, freaked out looks from passerbys. I'm pretty sure they're all thinking- "egomaniacs?" haha ohhh blogging.





We found this old ice house on some random side street. A gem of a find! And then the stoop below belonged to a guy who happened to come home at exactly the wrong moment... haha oops.
