went to the chapel

So my dad and Colleen finally tied the knot! Sorry I have been fairly MIA, but now you know why. If you have been reading my blog for a few years, you know that my mom passed away my freshman year of college. It was devastating and unexpected. And it took a very long time for the wounds to heal.

Almost four years later- we have grown and changed, we have renewed our love for each other, and we have been reminded over and over again how precious and tenuous life can be. Colleen has been an amazing blessing to not only my dad but to me and my brother as well. She is a ball of energy who loves fountain sodas, country music, pinot grigio with ice cubes, French history and our dogs Wizzy & Lila. Colleen, we love you so much and welcome to the family!

life lately

A few scenes from around the house these past couple weeks. These dogs keep me constantly entertained. It's funny to see how their personalities interact (and sometimes clash). They are so idiosyncratic. Lila tries to be as close to people as she can- that first picture is from when we were doing something upstairs so she laid across one stair and rested her head on the stair above it. She doesn't ever want to miss anything. Wizzy runs the length of the pool back and forth tracking the movement of anyone in the pool. He's like our built in lifeguard. Constant vigilance! Gold star for whoever can identify that quote.

Pretty soon life is going to start picking up for me. Which is good because I never know what to do with too much free time. I have orientation at The Limited today and then I'm not sure when I will actually start working. But I'm excited! I'll be all, Can I help you find something ma'am? Are you finding everything alright? Would you like me to start a dressing room for you? 


All of my friends tell me I'm crazy for being excited about retail which they say is a living hell. But I say bring it on difficult customers! In anticipation of some not so awesome experiences, I've been sure to be extra nice to anyone I encounter in sales or  customer service. They really are hard jobs- I mean people can be cray.

Sorry for the silence on this end. I have been disconnected from absolutely all internet usage for the past 5 days and it has been glorious! No instagram posting, tumblring, blogging, facebook checking, emailing, calling or texting. I have to say I really didn't miss it. Sometimes a break is good. We sailed to the Bahamas (Freeport & Nassau) for spring break from Charleston. Worked on a pre-summer tan and soaked up some good Vitamin D.

Oh haiii :)

Alright so I know the rest of the blogosphere has long ago posted pictures from the 4th, but I'm doing it now anyway. Found my first little pocket of time this week to just hang out. I'm actually in San Fran with my fam! That's kind of a fun sentence, right? If you say it out loud? or maybe it's just me. Anywho, just wanted to get these pictures up because they make me happy.

Another thing that makes me happy is that one of my bffs fo life fo life came home from school for the weekend of the 4th. She is doing research at her college which is in MD also, but since we're both so busy this is the first time I'd seen her since May. How wonderful are good friends? There's not much that beats that.

les petites victoires

Finally! I've been wanting to get something up here for a long time, but haven't been able to find the time. 8-5 blows, I wouldn't suggest it. Especially because with the commute, it turns out to be more like 6 am-6:30 pm. But this post is about the small victories! Which include getting these pictures up, I'm really happy about that :)



Other small victories include:

1. My dog not eating any shoes for over a week.
2. Watching hilarious youtube videos with an amazing boy. Please see here and here. hhahahah locals estimate that the leprechaun may look something like this. DAGGONIT. i seriously can't stop laughing.
3. A CVS pharmacist asking about buying my artwork!
4. Not working Friday!! OR Monday, 4th of July I've never loved you more. fo realz.
5. Rediscovering how good cheez-its are.



How much do you love this necklace? It's a Moorea Seal original, I love this girl. She is so gorgeous and makes incredible jewelry. I've gotten tons of compliments when I wear it, co-workers, Noodle & Co. worker, friends, randos.





What have been some of your small victories recently? And any killer plans for the 4th?/ Will anyone be in Baltimore per chance?



Ok gotta go crack down and do some GRE studying. Actually I'm supposed to be doing it right now, don't tell anyone. I seriously HAD to get something up here, I miss blogging.
