the red family
Inspired by the color palette I mixed for painting the other day- we've got a sort of naphthol red-ish color in the sweater, alizarin crimson for the tights, cadmium red on the lips (can't really see them), & ultramarine purple socks. Also, unintentionally super similar to this outfit.
So I was looking at these pictures and wondering, when in the world did I get that mole on my neck? And then I realized it was just a splotch on the lens. Genius right?
It has been a beautiful day today! Loving this almost 60 degree weather. Hope you all have gotten this warm spell too!

life lately
My first week back:
A. Wait Chapel, our beautiful campus landmark
B. my messy, comfy bed
C. Buddha hand lemons, who knew? A crazy roommate? Yeah, I already knew.
D. Pretty flowers at Whole FoodsE. I am obsessed with painting my nails lately (It's not going to last long now that I've started oil painting, nothing is better at ruining nails/hands in general). Oh well it was fun while it lasted
F. twinkle lights make everything more beautiful (in my humble opinion)
Will be back soon with an outfit post!

midnight in paris
So I fell in love with this movie, more for the fun artist references and the 1920s era than anything else. Oh and Marion Cotillard is absolutely gorgeous and charming. While I was studying abroad in Barcelona, I was able to take a few art courses and I learned a great deal about Stein, Picasso, DalĂ, and the Parisian influence that many of the most famous Spanish artists felt during this time. Paris was this full, vibrant mecca of culture and explosive imagination. I can absolutely relate to Owen Wilson's nostalgic, old spirited character who feels like he belongs in the 20s. It does seem like a very exciting time.
But anyway, the fashion! Who doesn't love the roaring 20s? I used to hate drop waist pieces because I thought they shortened my legs or made me look ill-proportioned, but lately I have a newfound appreciation. I love how they're swingy and loose, but still very feminine.

What do you think about the 1920s? Love it? Hate it?

snow white
I was just thinking what a mild winter we've been having, but we have gotten some snow today. Can't really complain considering the last couple days have been in the 50's almost 60s. It was perfect timing since we were hopping around DC and doing alot of walking outside. Anna was freezing though- she came from Phoenix where it's in 70s and 80s, a funny reminder that it's all relative.
Hope you all are keeping warm & dry wherever you are. Also, keep your eyes peeled! I'm going to be putting up some items for sale really soon. We're moving to VA in April, but this is the last time I'll be here in our house because after I head back to school, I'll stay there all semester. Anywho, I'm trying to downsize and purge, so hopefully you'll see something you like.
