san fran: day five
Hello all!
Trying to post recently has been a little nuts. I leave tomorrow morning for the Outer Banks with my family, excited would be a massive understatement. Work is squashing my soul a little bit. I can't do the sit at a desk for 8 hours thing.
Anywho, just wanted to drop in and show you guys some more photos from our trip to San Fran. I'm going to get behind here if I don't finish putting this up because I'll have tons more once I get back from the beach! Or maybe while I'm there, we're not sure if there's going to be internet or not. In the past, the house hasn't had it but I think the owners may have finally caved. I want the internet, but at the same time I hope that they don't have it. Blissful isolation
So these photos are from our last day in the city. We ended up deciding to walk the bridge which was a winner of an idea. It is a gorgeous view and we had a perfect day. Incredibly windy, but it's not like we didn't expect that. I realize it looks like I grabbed everything from my suitcase and wore it at once because that is what I did! The wind is not a joke. There's a conglomeration of color here, but I think it ends up working well enough.
Ruined this perfectly nice potential Christmas card by closing my eyes. The wind was whipping around and hitting me in the face, that's what I'm pleading. But just imagine that I'm not and it's lovely!
Until next time (hopefully, that time will be super soon)! Hope all's well with you. I'd love to hear how your summer's going so far and what's on the horizon.
Wrote this post a few days ago, now I am officially at the beach! I know what you're thinking, where's day four? But I'm going a little out of order here. Gotta keep you on your toes ;)

san fran: day three
Mo' photos from our trip to the West coast. Above is us on Lombard Street, the "crookiest street in the world"- apparently this is contested- but it's pretty curvy, eight hairpin turns.
Pretty details along Lombard
Wandering along the side road named for Jack Kerouac which leads to Chinatown
& then I'll leave you on this note. Incredible!
I know this was really brief but I'm getting tired and am hitting the hay :) I'll be back soon.

heat wave
Holy guacamole, any East coasters out there? This is absurdity, it is so hot out there. I was melting after literally 5 minutes. Apparently MD is the hottest state in the US right now. I believe it.
So I threw on something light because honestly you want to be wearing as little clothing as possible right now. I love this dress and have worn it at least once on the blog before. I bought it from an outdoor market type thing in Terragona, a little island off the East coast of Barcelona. We went on a weekend trip and it was lovely. I miss Spain so much, I'm itching to go back. Anyway before I get on a nostalgic tangent- the dress is a nice lightweight cotton, perfect for summer!
With the heat, you pretty much have to wear your hair up and I just came across this post about wearing scarves and had to try it out! I really like how it looks and it's super easy.
Hope you all are staying cool. I'll be indoors taking the GRE tomorrow eeek- wish me luck!

san francisco, day two
This past weekend my family took long a long weekend trip to San Fran. It came at the perfect time, I was starting to get run down by work. Pictures from our first day there will be over on Maria's lovely blog, First Impressions, sometime this week.
So, on our second day we did the obligatory tourist things like riding a cable car and going to a Giants baseball game. Well, the latter is more like an obligatory my family kind of thing. This is what happens when you're the only girl. I don't really mind though- there's something really great about the game, there are tiny little babies, old people in wheelchairs, nervous first daters and everybody in between. Prime people watching!
me & my daddy cable car-ing.
broha. exploring by the water
color inspiration throughout the city
rounding out the day with a W for the Giants.
Many more photos to come! This is probably 1% of the photos that I took. I go crazy and I'm unapologetic. :)

stars, stripes & sparklers
Oh haiii :)
Alright so I know the rest of the blogosphere has long ago posted pictures from the 4th, but I'm doing it now anyway. Found my first little pocket of time this week to just hang out. I'm actually in San Fran with my fam! That's kind of a fun sentence, right? If you say it out loud? or maybe it's just me. Anywho, just wanted to get these pictures up because they make me happy.
Another thing that makes me happy is that one of my bffs fo life fo life came home from school for the weekend of the 4th. She is doing research at her college which is in MD also, but since we're both so busy this is the first time I'd seen her since May. How wonderful are good friends? There's not much that beats that.
I'll be putting up more pictures from my trip very soon! Stay tuned :) And I'd love to hear how your summer is going!
luuuuurve,
yours truly.

les petites victoires
Finally! I've been wanting to get something up here for a long time, but haven't been able to find the time. 8-5 blows, I wouldn't suggest it. Especially because with the commute, it turns out to be more like 6 am-6:30 pm. But this post is about the small victories! Which include getting these pictures up, I'm really happy about that :)
Other small victories include:
1. My dog not eating any shoes for over a week.
2. Watching hilarious youtube videos with an amazing boy. Please see here and here. hhahahah locals estimate that the leprechaun may look something like this. DAGGONIT. i seriously can't stop laughing.
3. A CVS pharmacist asking about buying my artwork!
4. Not working Friday!! OR Monday, 4th of July I've never loved you more. fo realz.
5. Rediscovering how good cheez-its are.
How much do you love this necklace? It's a Moorea Seal original, I love this girl. She is so gorgeous and makes incredible jewelry. I've gotten tons of compliments when I wear it, co-workers, Noodle & Co. worker, friends, randos.
What have been some of your small victories recently? And any killer plans for the 4th?/ Will anyone be in Baltimore per chance?
Ok gotta go crack down and do some GRE studying. Actually I'm supposed to be doing it right now, don't tell anyone. I seriously HAD to get something up here, I miss blogging.
Have a fabulous, fabulous weekend!
xo,
A.
