oh starry night

I am so sorry, but the cold weather is the biggest deterrent for my productivity ever. It just makes me want to curl up in a little ball and stay in bed all day with tea and cookies. The thought of spending excess time out there in the wind for outfitphotos is awful. It looks like it's going to be warming up a little though, so hopefully I'll motivate my ass to get outdoors.

But, for now thought I'd share my thoughts on the Golden Globes last night! Who doesn't love to do this?

Favorites:

January Jones
Controversial, but I love it. She has the body to get away with it and I love the classic big 50's curls she paired with it. The dress is so much that simplicity withthe rest was necessary.

Anne Hathaway
Perfect. I have nothing bad to say about it, very classy and I love the low back.

Kyra Sedgwick
I think this one might be my favorite. I doubt it will be the talk of the town, but I think this mandarin color is gorgeous especially with the gold and sea green jewelry.

Claire Danes
Maybe a tie for favorite. This pink just makes her skin glow and the dress fits her like a glove. The simple gold cuff finishes it perfectly.

Least favorites:

Olivia Wilde
Ok, Olivia Wilde is my biggest girl crush of all time and this dress just does nothing for her. It's like a huge glittery cupcake, not figure flattering or enhancing. At least Iwould have liked to seen her hair back even in a simple bun- the long, straight hair with the princess dress is too little girl for me. The hair pulled back would have made it a bit for elegant. But still- just a no to this dress in general.

Emma Stone
Man Emma! I think you are so cute and funny, but this is just not the dress for you. I do love the simple, gold clutch but the color washes her out so much especially with the blonde hair. To me this just looks like a long t-shirt dress.

Natalie Portman
Something is just off for me with this one. Maybe it's the sheen of the dress that cheapens it or the rose applique that looks like something I could buy from Michael's craft store. Or maybe the combination of the necklace with the applique?

Michelle Williams
I know alot of people loved this look, but I'm not feeling it. I was expecting more out of her. For me this is not fashion forward but more retrospective than anything and not in a good way. It honestly looks like one of those dresses you make in middle school from a pattern. I don't think the cut or color do anything for her and those side ruffles kind of kill me. Her hair looks adorable though.

Anyway I guess I've done enough homework procrastinating accck it's so hard to come back to school after being abroad! Hope you all are doing something more enjoyable!

xo.

day to night

Two posts in a day, madness I know! I just wanted to show you all what I wore New Year's Eve. I just ended up at a couple friends' houses, so I wanted to keep it casual but still a little jazzy since it is NYE.

I wore the same skinny, dark ankle jeans and the same top, but just different accessories. The top was a steal, 12 dollars on sale at J. Crew holaaa! I love after- Christmas sales, they're the best. It ended up being a really relaxed night of good friends and good conversation. A nice way to ring in the new year. Today I hung out with a couple of friends before one of them goes back to school tomorrow. We had a few new year's resolutions as well- among them including Decisive New Year and No Settling New Year. I really like both of those because they hint at two of my weaknesses. We watched 17 Again and mmm Zac Efron, you're still beautiful in the new year AND single. Although, I saw an interview with him and he was a huge tool, so that was disappointing.

Go back to school this weekend, so strange and I need to pack ugggh- didn't I just UNpack? Isn't that just the way life is though?
