let's polka

A polka dot is always fun, especially when paired with a peter pan collar (try to say that three times fast!). And if you haven't noticed, I am officially IN LOVE with these Seychelles shoes. I've been eyeing these guys for ages but didn't want to shell out the 90 bucks. Scooped these up on sale! Man, there's nothing I like better than a good deal.

Hair was kind of flat today, it's that second day after showering syndrome. You know what I'm talking about? So I threw in some waves/curls this morning & some dry shampoo. Rejuvenated things a little bit.

summer wishlist

A few things floating around in my mind for summer. I like all the brights that I see in store windows, it feels like happiness. Apparently bright colors really do do good things for your mood. But I like to keep some classic pieces regardless of whatever trend testing I do. 

Summer isn't complete without a good pair of jean shorts, a dependable flat, and a cute open toe sandal. At least that's the way I see it.

eastern market with lisa

This girl is a blast. After running into each other on multiple occasions during the past couple weeks, questionable mutual stalking? We figured it was about time to schedule a planned hang out. Lisa suggested Eastern Market which is perfect because I've been wanting to go there ever since my last failed attempt (went the one day it's closed- it's Monday just a little FYI, I know I thought it was random too). The heat kind of took the shopping wind from out of our sails, but we had a good time just wandering around, sampling fruit, and listening to some funny passerby's.

I was not so secretly hoping we would run in to Naomi & Josh! Not this time, but I'm keeping the faith alive. Although we didn't see this cute dc family, we did have some delicious mexican food for dinner and then called it a day.

just peachy

Today has actually been a little bit chilly. Cold/rain front coming through this week. It's a nice change of pace. I love summer as much as the next girl, but I really don't do well in heat. I just wilt like a dead weed. This weather suits me just fine! I like the more mild temperatures.





This is one of my favorite dresses. It is so sweet with the little embroidery detail. It was actually meant to be worn as a nightdress but I just wear a slip under it and no one's the wiser. Well unless you knew it was a nightdress, in which case- let me go on thinking I'm clever. Tried out Katie's hair tutorial! It's definitely practice makes perfect. Today's my second time trying it and it gets easier the more you do it. Had an interview with Madewell today & this is what I wore. I've been noticing the little neon accents they've been pairing with their outfits, so I thought I'd throw on this belt. I'm not usually a neon kind of person, but I think this is the perfect subtle way to integrate it.
