unusual inspiration: alcatraz

While in San Francisco, we visited the island of Alcatraz which was absolutely fascinating and what I wasn't expecting, gorgeous! There's this rundown beauty to the buildings with layers of paint peeling away to reveal other colors and textures. The flowers are all in bloom and the water is a beautiful blue. *Photos by yours truly :)

Autumn is my favorite season by far- it means a) my birthday, 21st this year! b) Halloween c) crunchy, warm hued leaves d) apple cider e) Wake Forest's lovely campus f) hitting the books, I have to say I've missed it a little. Although I'm sure after just a week or so I'll be singing a much different tune. But hey, who doesn't love getting new school supplies and decorating their dorms/apts?

san francisco, day two

This past weekend my family took long a long weekend trip to San Fran. It came at the perfect time, I was starting to get run down by work. Pictures from our first day there will be over on Maria's lovely blog, First Impressions, sometime this week.

So, on our second day we did the obligatory tourist things like riding a cable car and going to a Giants baseball game. Well, the latter is more like an obligatory my family kind of thing. This is what happens when you're the only girl. I don't really mind though- there's something really great about the game, there are tiny little babies, old people in wheelchairs, nervous first daters and everybody in between. Prime people watching!

Many more photos to come! This is probably 1% of the photos that I took. I go crazy and I'm unapologetic. :)
